Why our web license counts page views
We looked at counting domains, visitors and page views. Here is what we chose and what happens when a site grows.

A web license has to measure something. The usual choices are domains, monthly visitors or monthly page views. Each has a problem.
Counting domains alone treats a personal blog and a national newspaper the same. Counting visitors needs analytics most small sites do not run, and the numbers vary by tool. Page views are also tool-dependent, but every host and analytics package reports them, and they track how much the type is actually served.
What we chose
One domain and its subdomains, up to 250,000 page views a month. That covers most small businesses, portfolios and shops with room to spare.
When a site grows
Nothing stops working, and we do not check. If your site stays above the limit for three months in a row, write to us and buy the next step. We would rather people use the fonts and tell us than buy a large license up front for traffic they may never get.
The full terms are on the licenses page.
