Regular · 20/30 px

Almanac Text is built for pages people read from start to finish: novels, annual reports, long articles on a phone. The x-height is generous, the serifs are short and blunt, and the spacing is loose enough for 9-point type on uncoated paper. Small caps, oldstyle and tabular figures, and fractions are in every style.

About Almanac Text

An early printed book lying open in a dark museum case, two dense columns of black text on each page
Almanac Text set in two columns on a large book page.

Almanac Text started with a question from a small newspaper: could one family handle the body copy, the tide tables and the crossword clues? It needed even color on cheap paper, figures that line up in tables, and an italic that does not shrink next to the roman.

Every style has small caps, oldstyle and tabular figures, fractions and a slashed zero for tables and codes. Turn them on in the tester above to see them in your own text.

The family has six weights from Light to ExtraBold, each with an italic. Regular and Italic cover most books; the full family adds weights for headings, pull quotes and captions.
